Top 5 Behemoth Code Applications
It takes around 100,000 lines of code to create a standard iPhone game application. The Age Of Empire online game has taken over 1,000,000 lines of code to be made. The Hubble Space Telescope has millions of code lines to run. The top five biggest programs produced to date are:
1. Human Genome Project
Project software used 3300 billion lines of code to study the human genome and map the nucleotide base pairs of DNA. Which is the biggest program ever created.
2. Google
Google is the biggest Internet access network. It's a mix of Gmail , Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google+, Google Translate, Google Images, Google Notes, Google Maps, etc. All in all, Google has 2,000 billion lines of code in it. Moreover, with continuous updates and improvements of new technologies, the Human Genome Project will be outperformed in terms of code lines over the next few decades.
3. Average High-End Car Software
Modern automotive apps and performance management tools use an average of 100 million lines of code.
4. Mac OS X
Apple's Mac OS X, the largest operating system, has 85 million lines of code.
5. Facebook
Facebook is second-largest online website. Messenger, Games, Communities, Moments, News Site, Activities, Notices, Locations, etc. are also available on Facebook. This has parallels with Google in terms of frequent updates , new functionality and improvements to the software. Both networks combined have more than 60 million lines of Facebook code.
